We will review concepts and vocabulary such as transgender, bisexual, queer and intersex; the difference between gender identity and sexual orientation; and how to build positive relationships while respecting uncertaintly or difference around identity, including what language is appropriate to use in conversation with someone who's gender identity and/or sexuality you do not know.

Coming Out To Your Family: A Panel Discussion

Join a diverse panel from Boston's gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender speakers' bureau SpeakOut as they share experiences and answer questions about coming out to loved ones. We'll discuss the issues involved in coming out to family and friends, in the workplace, in a religious community, etc. Varying levels of experience, perspectives, and ranges of belief will enhance the event and grow the potential for learning and broader understanding of LGBTQI issues.
